LONG VERSE

Verse 1

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one. I’d like to leave an after glow of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly Down the ways. Of happy times And laughing times And bright and sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve, To dry before the sun. Of happy memories that I Leave when life is done.

Verse 2

We hold you close Within our hearts, And there you shall remain, To walk with us Throughout our lives, Until we meet again. So rest in peace, Dear …… ( NAME), And thanks for All you’ve done. We pray that God Has given you, The crown you’ve truly won.

Verse 3

When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room, Why cry for a soul set free.- Miss me a little, but not too long, And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared, Miss me, but let me go. For this journey that we all must take, And each must go alone. It’s all a part of the Master’s plan, a step on the road to home. When we are lonely and sick at heart, Go to the friends we know, And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds, Miss me, but let me go.

Verse 4

You never said "I’m leaving" You never said goodbye You were gone before I knew it, And only God knew why. A million times I needed you, A million times I cried, If love alone could have saved you, You never would have died. In Life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still, In my heart you hold a place That no one could ever fill.

Verse 5

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord Scenes from my life flashed across the sky In each, I noticed footprints in the sand Sometimes there were two sets of footprints; other times there was only one. During the lowest times of my life I could see only one set of footprints So I said, “Lord, you promised me that you would walk with me always. Why, when I have needed you most would you leave me?” The Lord replies, “My precious child,I love you and would never leave you The times when you have seen only one set of footprints It was then that I carried you”.

Verse 6

Don’t think of her as gone away, her journey’s just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of her as resting from the sorrow and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort, where there are no days and years. Think how she must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched, for nothing loved is ever lost, and she was loved so much.

Verse 7

In tears we watched you sinking, We watched you fade away, And though our hearts were breaking, We knew you could not stay. Your weary hours and days of pain Your troubled nights are past, Your ever patient willing soul, Has found sweet rest at last. God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, He closed his arms around you, And whispered “Come to me.” Just a prayer from the family who loved you, Just a memory fond and true; In our hearts you will live forever Because we thought the world of you.

Your life was love and labour, Your love for your family true, You did your best for all of us, We will always remember you. God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, He closed his arms around you, And whispered “Come to Me!” Our lives are all so different now, From what it used to be, All because you are not here, To share our company. Life brings us happiness, But can quickly turn unkind, It brings a grief thats hard to bear, For love ones left behind. Your resting place we visit, We place some flowers with care, But no one knows the heartache, As we turn and leave you there.

Our Lips cannot speak how we loved you, Our hearts cannot tell what to say, But God knows how we miss you, In our home that is lonely today. As days go by without you, And weeks turn into years, They hold a million memories And hide a million tears. And when I see your photo You seem to smile and say “Don’t cry I’m only sleeping” “We’ll meet again some day”. May the God of love and mercy Care for our loved one who is gone And bless with consolation Those left to carry on.

They say there is a reason, They say that time will heal, But neither time nor reason, Will change the way we feel. For no-one knows the heartache, That lies behind our smiles, No-one knows how many times, We have broken down and cried. Gone from home that smiling face, Those cheerful happy ways, The heart that won so many friends, In bygone, happy days. We want to tell you something, So there won’t be any doubt, You’re so wonderful to think of, But so hard to be without.

Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread forgive our trespassers as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not in to temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is The Kingdom The Power and The glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Life is but a stopping place, A pause in what’s to be, A resting place along the road, To sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, Different paths along the way, We all were meant to learn some things, But never meant to stay… Your destination is a place, Far greater than we know, For some the journey’s quicker, For some the journey’s slow. But when the journey finally ends, We’ll claim a great reward, And find an everlasting peace, Together with the Lord.

Now I am contented That my life it was worthwhile, Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile. When you are walking down the street And you’ve got me on your mind, I’m walking in your footsteps Only half a step behind.
